Canadian Hotel is First to Install MSI’s New WinPM+Sales Driver Software

Service Plus Inn & Suites in Alberta predicts technology will dramatically boost bottom line

PHOENIX — JUNE 21, 2005 — The Service Plus Inn & Suites, in Grand Prairie, Alberta, Canada, has become the first lodging property to install Multi-Systems Inc.’s new WinPM+Sales Driver, a new software program designed to streamline workflow and accountability for limited service properties.

Phoenix-based MSI is one of the hotel industry’s leading innovators and providers of fully integrated property-management, sales and marketing, catering, point-of-sale, and wireless PM system technology.

“We’re thrilled to have the Service Plus Inn & Suites as our first Sales Driver client,” said Rick Munson, MSI’s president and c.e.o. “This hotel has always been a leader in its market, and now with the advantages of the Sales Driver software, the Service Plus Inn & Suites is on the way to even greater market dominance.”

The Service Plus Inn & Suites staff will, quite literally, have the benefits of MSI’s Sales Driver at its fingertips. With the click of a mouse, the property’s general manager, salespersons and front office personnel now have the capability to access detailed information on sales accounts, contacts, new business, traces and communications records. In addition, the Sales Driver software provides the ability to set target rates and group room allocations, as well as merge database fields with Microsoft® Word, Excel and Access for direct mailings.

“We wanted a user-friendly system that would enable us to quickly track our revenues, group business and guest histories—before Sales Driver, we had to do this all manually,” said Sheena Willsey, General Manager of the Service Plus Inn & Suites. “Now we’ll have the ability to instantly access the information we need to find new business and retain guests who have stayed with us already.”

Willsey said perhaps the most valuable feature of the MSI software for her hotel is the marketing tools. Tracking information on frequent guests and groups, once a painstakingly, time-consuming manual process, is available with the click of a button.

“Going into our summer season—which for us is our slow season—we think Sales Driver will help generate a significant amount of new room sales,” Willsey said. “The real payoff will come next summer, when this new business history will be in the database and will be instantly available to us for marketing.”

“With the thin labor market in Alberta, we needed an easy-to-use tool like Sales Driver because we no longer can count on having enough staff available to manually do the many tasks we’ll now be able to do,” Willsey added.

“A large part of MSI’s success is our ability to meet the ever-changing needs of the hospitality landscape,” said Mark Houser, MSI chief information officer. “The Service Plus Inn & Suites’ choice of our Sales Driver software is a prime example of how we can apply our expertise to an individual property’s needs. As hotels continue to add more technologies, it is our goal to provide tools that assist sales managers and help them improve their properties’ bottom line.”
